Our centre provides different levels of Shanghaiese courses. A
participant who has achieved 80% or above of attendance to all
4-month courses may apply for a certificate.

This course is designed for those who wish to acquire basic
spoken Shanghaiese. Students are expected to learn some basic
Shanghaiese to handle everyday practical conversation,
pronunciation, and elementary vocabulary.
Lower Intermediate I, II and III 進階 |
These courses are designed a continuation to the Beginners’
course. It develops a more complete knowledge of basic Shanghaiese.
The focus is still Conversation, writing and reading skills. Various forms
and the usage of verbs, and more complicated colloquial
Shanghaiese, such as polite and respectful expressions, will be
introduced.
Higher Intermediate I, II, III and IV 中級 |
Designed as continuation to Lower Intermediate III, these
courses provide students with a wider range of expressions
and more sophisticated grammatical forms.
Advanced Level I, II and III 高級 |
These courses are designed for students who have completed
intermediate Shanghaiese or the equivalent level. Focus will be paid
upon acquiring the knowledge to handle conversation as well
as discussions concerning students’ own interests and
occupation. Complex sentences and expressions will be
introduced to express complicated ideas and thoughts. On
completion of these courses, students should be able to
communicate in many levels of conversation, of a polite, formal
or familiar nature. Moreover, the students will be introduced to
different aspects of Shanghaiese culture.
Conversational Courses 會話班 |
These courses provide an excellent opportunity to further
practice Conversation Shanghaiese for those who have mastered basic
grammar and syntax. Emphasis is laid on correct pronunciation
and efficient practical communication skills. Students are
encouraged to express their opinions during class discussions
so that their vocabulary will be greatly enriched at the
completion of the courses.
Tailor-Made Course 度身定造課程 |
Besides organizing regular center-based courses, we also
provide tailor-made, in- house training for individuals, groups or
companies. Rates per hour and per person are as follows:

One Year Diploma Course 一年制文憑課程 |
This class lasts for one year and consists of 96 teaching hours.
An overall knowledge of Shanghaiese including Conversation, listening, writing
and reading skills will be taught intensively. Students will be
thoroughly prepared for Higher Diploma course by this.

Along this year the student acquire the ability of expressing

This course is intended for students who have completed the
higher intermediate Shanghaiese courses or equivalent qualification.
Taught at university level, it consists of career and technical
programs. It also covers more grammar with an emphasis on
Shanghaiese culture and customs, activities include: group
discussions, songs, videos, and literature.
